The lexical basis of the Nerekhta ethno-dialectal zone

The article deals with the features of the vocabulary of living dialects of the ethno-dialectal Nerehta zone, whose linguistic and geographic features are revealed against the background of Kostroma dialects within the administrative boundaries of the Kostroma region. A comparison of the vocabulary of the ethno-dialectal zone with the vocabulary of dialects of other regions of the Kostroma region is made on the basis of the “Short Kostroma regional dictionary” (KRKOS), where the list of words of the VIII section of the Program of the lexical atlas of Russian folk dialects “Semantics and Areals is taken as a basis for the description of the vocabulary of dialects of all 24 districts of the Kostroma region”. The all-Russian lexis contained in the KRKOS makes it possible to verify the degree of affinity of the Nerekhta dialects and the literary language, which in the future will allow us to establish possible dialectal sources of the origin of the lexis of the literary language, and also to adjust the affiliation of the dialects to the type of central or peripheral ones. This work is devoted to the memory of A. Gerd and performed in the mainstream of those methodological methods of linguogeographical analysis, which he once applied in the study of Pskov dialects, taking for a sample a certain array of lexis.
