Numerals in phraseology and speech culture of the Khanty
Abstract
The article presents an attempt to analyze Khanty phraseological units with a numeral component. The empirical basis for the study was a collection of Khanty phraseological units collected during expeditions in the Shuryshkarsky and Priuralsky districts in the period from 2016 to 2022. At present, the author's card library contains more than 900 phraseological units in the Shuryshkar dialect of the Khanty language. In this work, an analysis of more than 60 phraseological units with a numeral component was carried out. It is noted that numerals in the Khanty dialects have a specific common semantic content and form a frontal and closed system. In a sentence, numerals act as nominal attributes and form a unique type of numeral combinations with a noun. A distinctive feature of such phrases in the Khanty language is that the defined name standing after the numeral is used in the singular form, and the numeral is adjacent to the name. As a result of the study, a conclusion was made about the productivity of some numerals as a component of phraseological units. From the analyzed data, it was revealed that the most frequent are the numerals one, two, and one hundred.
