The processes of the morpheme formation on the basis of the etymological root *-poi- / *-pei- in the russian folk dialects
Abstract
The article considers the system of dialects etymonims with the etymological root of *-poi- / -pei-, describes the processes of semantic divergence leading to the formation of new root morphemes. The study of these processes is relevant and urgent, since morpheme formation plays an important role in the development of the Russian national dialect's lexical system. The functional-typological approach used in the work makes it possible to determine strong and weak root morphemes, to reveal the features of the evolutionary movement of morphemes in dialects. Еtymological root of *-poi- / -pei- in the Russian national dialects are more productive than in the literary language.
In dialects, morpheme formation on the basis of the etymological root * -poi- / -pei- passes in several directions. As a result of semantic and functional divergence, homonymous morphemes are formed on the basis of the initial syncretic root. In derivative words, as a result of various semantic transformations, the significative significance of the morpheme changes, resulting in the structural instability of the word, which may further cause the formation of new root morphemes. The appearance of secondary roots in the dialects may also be associated with the pre-Slavic processes of expansion of the initial root determinatives. New root morphemes can occur in dialects as a result of phonetic transformations, processes of convergence of multi-root words that have a common meaning.
