Borbushin’s dialect: 30 years of study
Abstract
The article sums up the study of the dialect of the village of Borbushin in the Kirillovsky district of the Vologda region and determines the prospects for reducing the data to a single electronic building. For 30 years, Vologda students and teachers collected samples of folk dialects according to the program “Lexical Atlas of Russian Folk Dialects” and specialized word-building programs, recorded oral stories about the history of the village, its everyday and spiritual culture, formed a photo, video and audio archive representing the external appearance of the village and its inhabitants, as well as reflecting the history of the work of dialectologists with these materials. A large number of local words are presented in the “Dictionary of Vologda dialects” and is reflected in the card file of the “Lexical Atlas of Russian Folk Dialects”. The features of the word-formation system of the dialect are reflected in several dissertations and monographic studies, as well as in the database of the “Dialectal Dictionary of the Structure of Words”. Speech portraits of the villagers served as the basis for the monographs “The People’s Speech of the Vologda Region: Dialects of the Kirillovsky District of the Vologda Region” and “The People’s Speech of the Vologda Region: Experience of the Male Speech Portrait”, as well as for the experience of the electronic “Dictionary of the Language Person of the Citizen of the Kirillovsky District of the Vologda Region”. Oral stories about the labor and game traditions of Borbushin determined the logic of creating an electronic body of local texts “The Life Circle”. Significant in terms of volume and diverse in terms of collection, speech material obtained as a result of studying the dialect of Borbushin village of the Kirillovsky district of the Vologda region requires a hypertext form of storage and representation. In the final part of the article, its necessary properties are determined, ensuring the reliability of information preservation, the variety of types of its search and, ultimately, the adequacy of the representation of the linguistic and cultural identity of the studied territory.
