Abstract
In this paper, the author examines phytonyms containing mouse’ names in Finno-Permian languages (branch of Finno-Ugric languages). Such phytonyms are numerous and are present in all languages of the branch. They are all composite. The presence of mouse’ names in phytonyms usually mean that the plant is small or inedible. In some plants’ names whole plants or their parts are compared to parts of a mouse’ body (tail, ear or nose).
