Abstract

The article continues the previously started series of articles devoted to the history and the origin of Russian words (both literary and dialectal), that are included or planned for inclusion in the Russian Etymological Dictionary. This work, like the Etymological Dictionary of the Russian Language by M. Vasmer, follows the path of maximum coverage of lexical material, i.e., ultimately, the path of creating an etymological thesaurus of the Russian language (however, this goal is still very far away). The material in question is largely absent in M. Vasmer's dictionary.
