Abstract

The author tries to show the comparison between the local dialect in the villages of the former Kolodenskaya parish and the Ulomsky and in part the Vauchsky dialects. The analysis is made on the basis of the “Dictionary of the Kolodensky dialect” by the author of this article. This work is the continuation of our research "From the “Dictionary of the Russian North dialects” to the “Dictionary of the Kolodinsky dialect”. Having compared features of the Kolodensky dialect with the Ulomsky and the Vauchsky on the basis of S.A. Eremin's researches, we have added words which haven't been revealed as a result of audio recordings to the dictionary and we have tested them at informants. The vocabulary analysis uncovers some phonetic and grammar details. The Ulomsky dialect presented in S.A. Eremin's work is as close as possible to Kolodensky. Nevertheless we designate some specific features of the Kolodennsky dialect which induces to more detailed researches. The reasons of similarity and distinctions are explained from the history of Kolodny and Uloma during the formation of primary and secondary dialects. The author hopes to supply the local dialect dictionaries to clarify the status of Kolodensky dialect in the area. This study gives grounds to assert that the vocabulary structure of Kolodensky dialect requires further consideration in many points: the influence of the distribution of the dialect in the administrative border area, the allocation of primary and secondary dialects, the creation of isogloss of individual lexemes, the clarification of dialectological maps of the microregion, the tracking of the direct dependence of informants' genealogy on dialect quality, analysis of the preservation and change of the dialect from the primary to the current state. The results would either allow one to recognize or reject the status of Khodensky dialect as independent in the area of the western dialects of the Cherepovetsky district in the Belozero-Bezhek interzonal group of Northern Russian dialects. Even in the case of non-recognition, this study would make possible to draw the border within the western dialects of the Vologda region more clearly.
